Since 1996, A L’Ancienne Imports has provided authentic and antique architectural elements and finishes.  We utilize these materials in the creation and renovation of unique living environments that blend contemporary design with centuries-old tradition and artistry.

Founder Pascal Faivre’s family has followed the path of stone work and masonry in France since the 12th century.  Pascal began his education at age seven as an apprentice at the side of his father Serge, a respected expert in castle and chateau restoration and traditional French masonry arts.  Pascal went on to complete a four-year intensive degree program at Gravier Blanc School of Masonry in France, continuing projects in Burgundy, St. Tropez and Switzerland before relocating to the United States to create A L'Ancienne Imports in 1996.

His installations can be found in Aspen, Vail, Beverly Hills, Newport Beach, Malibu, New York City, St. Tropez, Switzerland and throughout Northern California’s Wine Country and surrounding Bay Area.  His specialties include traditional French masonry techniques, Chateau Stucco(SM), old world interior plaster, hand cast stone, spiral staircases, antique fireplace installation, terra cotta and limestone flooring, and specialized stone carving, refinishing and fabrication.

His work has been published in the books Edible Selby, This is Camino, From the Land: Backen, Gillam & Kroeger Architects-- and in design and architectural magazines Country Living, Elle Decor, Traditional Home, Veranda, California Home & Design, Building Stone, Wine Country Living and Appellation.
